PAVILION

Extending the physical space of the Pavilion series from the exhibition hall to nature, the artist again holds the dialogue among the artistic work, nature and people through video and dance, probing into the existence and the extinction, the ephemeral and the eternal of human being and nature. It is worth mentioning that the video was shot in the Ockley forest in England where the artist lived once. This special experience yielded more insights to the creation of the Pavilion series. Meanwhile, Julia, the German-Japanese artist has brought more international features to its cross-culture discussion. The entire creation is a healing process to the soul of artist, the mourning for fading nature, the struggle and sigh for human being caught in their own trap, and the final relief she achieves when the dancer disappears into the depth of the forest. However, in the eye of the universe, human history appears to happen in a twinkling. The nature we love, destroy and cherish may be a relic in this dimension, running into an unforeseeable era.
